Podcast Episode 20: Happy B’day Linux

   Posted by: bud   in Podcast

Due to several complaints received to us via feedback regarding using Sinhala on the blog, we have decided to make all future posts in English. The main argument to which we also agree is that FOSS should be a motivator rather than a hinderance for those wanting to learn English. Given this being the year of IT and English as declared by the President , we have decided this is for the best. This does not mean we will not speak in Sinhala in the podcast. The podcast will continue to be in Singlish as it already is. If you have trouble understanding the post, please write to podcast@sinhalenfoss.org with the subject PLS TRANSLATE TO SINHALA and we will get back to you ASAP.

In this week’s episode we start of by saying Happy 15th B’ day to the Linux kernel and give our opinion on the newly released kernel 2.6.29, Bash 4.0 and OpenOffice 3.1. A worm is out targeting a Linux router and you may experience some data loss while using Ext4, while M$ and Tom Tom go at it over Fat32, we discuss. Finally we review some tools that may just enable you to recover that “Ooops I deleted that file again”. This and sooo much more on SinhalenFOSS!
